# 2. Departments

## 1. DEPARTMENT FEATURE OVERVIEW

The Department feature enables businesses to build and manage their organizational structure using an intuitive hierarchical tree view.

With this feature, businesses can:

* Create main departments
* Create sub-departments under each main department
* Manage the organizational hierarchy across multiple levels
* Build a clear, well-structured, and professional organizational framework

This feature is suitable for businesses of all sizes, from small companies to large enterprises with multiple departments and management levels.

### 2. Creating a Department

#### Step 1: Add a Department

On the Department Management screen:

* Click **Add Department**.
* The system will display the **New Department** creation form.

#### Step 2: Enter Department Information

Provide the following information:

* **Department Name**
* **Parent Department**

Examples of department names:

* Sales Department
* Marketing Department
* Customer Service Department

If you are creating a sub-department, select a **Parent Department** to organize the company structure in a hierarchical tree.

Examples:

* Online Sales is a sub-department of the Sales Department.
* Southern Customer Service is a sub-department of the Customer Service Department.

### 3. Creating Sub-Departments

The system supports multiple levels of departments, allowing businesses to accurately represent their organizational structure.

Businesses can:

* Create main departments
* Create sub-departments
* Create multiple levels of nested sub-departments within each department

This helps present the organizational chart in a clear, well-structured, and intuitive hierarchy.

### 4. Editing a Department

After creating a department, you can update its information at any time.

The editable information includes:

* **Department Name**
* **Department Level**
* **Position within the organizational tree**

This allows businesses to easily keep their organizational structure up to date as changes occur.

### 5. Collapsing and Expanding Departments

Within the organizational tree, you can:

* **Collapse** departments
* **Expand** departments

This feature helps you:

* Easily navigate the organizational chart
* Manage multiple departments more efficiently
* Keep the interface clean and organized, especially for businesses with multiple management levels.

### 6. Centering the Organizational Tree

The system allows you to:

* **Center the organizational tree**

This feature helps display the organizational chart in a balanced layout, making it easier to view and manage.

### 7. Configuring the Organizational Tree to Fit Your Business

Businesses can flexibly configure the organizational tree based on:

* Company size
* Number of departments
* Operational model
* Internal management structure

Examples:

* Small businesses may only need a few core departments.
* Large enterprises can create multiple management levels and specialized departments.

### 8. Assigning Employees to Departments

Once the organizational structure is complete, you can assign employees to their respective departments.

This helps you:

* Build a complete organizational structure
